Postdoc Project in Environmental Omics / Molecular Microbial Ecology, University Tübingen
Environmental pollution by anthropogenic organic and inorganic compounds is a growing global concern. Within the Collaborative Research Centre (CRC 1253) “CAMPOS - Catchment as Reactors: Metabolism of Pollutants on the Catchment Scale”, supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, microbial pollutant turnover will be examined by applying molecular-biological assays (e.g. DNA- and RNA-based qPCR), metagenomics, metatranscriptomics, and metaproteomics (omics) to field samples of relevant CAMPOS landscape elements: rivers, sub-catchments, floodplains, aquifers, and soils.
The ideal candidate should have a solid background in environmental microbiology or microbial ecology with experience in primer design and validation, application of omics techniques, and analyses of omics data sets. The employment (TVL E13, 100%, 3years) will be arranged by the administration of the University of Tübingen. The starting date is August/September 1st 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter.
