The VAAM Young Scientist Network is a platform dedicated to connecting early career microbiologists, spanning from PhD candidates to postdocs and researchers in the early stages of establishing their independent careers. Our goal is to support career development and informed decision-making at key transitional stages - such as selecting PhD or postdoc programs and navigating the path toward a group leader position.
To foster a sustainable and collaborative microbiology community, we aim to strengthen scientific exchange and peer support within our network. We host bimonthly meetings that address a range of relevant topics, from understanding grant review processes and faculty hiring committees to sharing personal experiences and strategies for career progression. Through these regular exchanges, we hope to empower each other and build lasting connections across career stages.
