YOUR career options in microbiology - our new VAAM mentoring programme for young scientists to support career planning at an early stage and provide professional orientation:
Benefit from our more than 3500 members in the various fields of microbiology who are represented in almost all relevant professional fields and are involved through their networks. Tandems of one mentee and one mentor each ensure particularly targeted advice.
The programme is aimed at both mentees who wish to remain in academic research and those who are aiming at a different career.
We are looking for dedicated scientists who would like to pass on their experience to the next generation of microbiologists! Please contact the VAAM office if you would like to support us in VAAMentoring. Please fill out the application form for mentors with questions about your professional career and send it back to us (info@vaam.de).

The program was presented at the VAAM Annual Meeting 2022 and the first mentees were accepted in spring 2022. The programme is aimed at doctoral students from the second year onwards as well as postdocs, duration of the programmes will be approximately two years.
New mentee applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and the next deadline for mentee applicatiosn is April 30, 2024. Read more
Please note that previous membership in the VAAM of at least one year is required for participation as a mentee.
