Focus group “Microbiome”

The analysis of microbiomes is currently one of the most dynamically growing research fields worldwide. In addition to new insights into important fundamental questions, especially which factors influence the structure and functionality of microbiomes, there is a series of promising applied research work in the fields of agriculture, biotechnology and medicine, where, on the basis of the latest data, applications are currently being developed to improve our health and the health of our environment in a targeted manner. Researchers who are members of the VAAM, are also significantly involved in this groundbreaking work.

The focus group aims to improve the visibility of microbiome research in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland and to offer a platform for developing joint research projects. Close cooperation with the DGHM will be established.
