Interest in a new VAAM special group "Synthetic Microbiology"

Synthetic (micro)biology is a fast growing research field met with a lot of interest by young scientists and students and translational potential for biotechnology and medicine. 

A special group “Synthetic Microbiology” would complement and cross-connect existing special groups and provide the home base for an exchange, planning of common activities and coordination with a similar Interest Group “Synthetic Biology” that has been recently established by the GBM, DECHEMA, GDCh and the DBG. Therefore the VAAM Board would like to find out whether there is a long-term interest in the establishment of a VAAM special group "Synthetic Microbiology".
